What Should I Do Before My Appointment?
Severe toothache
Rinse gently with warm salt water and clean around the tooth. Avoid placing aspirin directly against the gums because it can irritate or burn the tissue.
Facial swelling
Contact our office promptly. Swelling may indicate an infection that requires urgent evaluation.
Knocked out permanent tooth
Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently without scrubbing. Place it back into the socket when possible or keep it moist in milk, and contact a dentist immediately.
Lost crown
Keep the crown and bring it with you. Avoid chewing on the affected side. Do not use household glue.
Broken tooth
Save any fragments you can find. Rinse gently and avoid biting on the damaged tooth.
